More About Our Charity Partner For This Event
Strive 2 Tri was established in 2011 with the help of concerned area citizens who identified there was a growing problem of childhood obesity in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Specifically Prince George’s County Maryland yields obesity rates which exceeds 40% but we noticed when the community took action to address this problem we saw outstanding results. Triathlon multi-sport events has grown tremendously in our area over the past years but what about the kids?
Strive 2 Tri aims to go against the paradigm that football and basketball are the only relevant sports available to inner city youths. Triathlons allows young athletes to challenge themselves with individualized activities that builds confidence which will stay with them for a lifetime. As their determination continues to grow they become efficient in the 3 disciplines of triathlons (swim, bike & run) while becoming healthy at the same time. Our dedicated team of Coaches, Parents & Supporters are committed towards providing a fun atmosphere while getting fit during the process.
